In Detail

The SRS A2 Sport puts the action behind the trigger, which means a long inner barrel in a rifle that handles like something much shorter. That layout is the whole point: you get the velocity and stability of a 500 mm barrel without the snagging length of a conventional sniper rifle.

Build quality is the other headline. The chassis is rigid, the bolt runs on a straight-pull action and the rifle holds zero through transport and knocks. It is expensive, and the bullpup trigger takes a session to learn, but nothing else here feels as precisely engineered.

Field Notes & Upgrade Path

What actually matters once the rifle leaves the shop — and in what order to spend money on it.

On the field

  1. 01Practise magazine changes — the bullpup layout puts the well behind your shoulder.
  2. 02The straight-pull bolt rewards a firm, straight hand; twisting it costs time.
  3. 03Use 0.32g to 0.36g BBs to make the most of the barrel length.

Upgrade order

  1. 1Largely unnecessary out of the box
  2. 2A lighter trigger spring if the pull weight bothers you
  3. 3Scope with a low mount — the rail sits close to the eye line already

The Verdict

What works

  • Long barrel in a genuinely compact overall length
  • Rigid chassis that holds zero through abuse
  • Excellent factory hop-up and consistency
  • Quick handling in and around cover

What grates

  • Expensive relative to conventional bolt actions
  • Bullpup trigger is an acquired taste
  • Magazine changes are slower behind the shoulder

Bottom line

The best-engineered rifle in this comparison and the easiest to live with on a mixed site. You pay for it, and you have to like bullpups, but nothing else combines this length, rigidity and accuracy.

Sample data: specifications and scores are compiled from manufacturer figures and community reports for illustration. Chronograph your own rifle, measure in joules with the BB weight you play with, and confirm the velocity limit and minimum engagement distance of your site.

Common Questions

Give it one game day. The trigger feel and the rear magazine are the two adjustments; everything else feels natural within an hour.
